Not only the choice of plaster color, but also the choice of appropriate texture should be considered in order to obtain a complete and harmoniously finished appearance of the facade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A variety of plasters with the so-called \u2018scratched\u2019 and \u2018dragged\u2019 textures is available on the market. The textures of each product contain marble granules in different size. The size of granules influences the final aspect of the coating. To indicate the different types of textures, acronyms are often added to the name of the plaster: S – for scratched texture and D – for dragged texture. The figure that follows the letter indicates the size of the marble granules contained in the plaster: D1.5 \u2013 plaster with a scratched texture, size of granules approx. 1.5 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The smaller the grain sizes of the granules, the finer the texture of the plaster. In case of plasters with larger granules, the surface texture of the finish coating will be more embossed. The plasters with finer particles are recommended for smooth facades, without unevenness. The plasters with larger grain size are recommended when the substrate is not perfectly smooth in order to visually hide some slight irregularities. The plasters with larger texture are also suitable for environments with severe climatic conditions, as they form a thicker film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PLASTERS WITH SCRATCHED TEXTURE<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The plasters are used to create a uniform structure of the decorative coating. Plastering is done initially with a stainless trowel, while texturing is done with a plastic trowel. For the correct texturing of the plaster, use a plastic trowel to rub it up in a circular motion so that the marble granules can\u00a0be\u00a0arranged\u00a0in a beautiful pattern. It is important to note that, in order\u00a0to ensure\u00a0a\u00a0uniform structure\u00a0of\u00a0the plaster, the circular motion must always be in the same direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PLASTERS WITH DRAGGED TEXTURE<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The plasters contain a certain amount of larger marble granules allowing to achieve the typical striations on the surface, which are \u2018dragged\u2019 along the substrate and shape decorative grooves when working with the plastic trowel. Plastering is done initially with a stainless trowel, while texturing is done with a plastic trowel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are different options\u00a0when it comes to texturing a\u00a0 dragged plaster:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Horizontally<\/strong> \u2013 pass the plastic trowel from left to right and vice versa, thus forming a surface striated with horizontal grooves.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
